How I’m Getting Ripped for the Holidays
As of today, there’s about 11 weeks left in the year. This is plenty of time to lose about 20 pounds of pure fat and get ripped! Most bodybuilder and fitness professionals will allow 12-16 weeks of increased cardio and decreased calories to cut down and trim up (lose that body fat). I started this journey about 10 days ago.
When I started 10 days ago, I was measured at 218 pounds and 17% bodyfat. Based on losing about 1% of body fat per week (or 2 lbs of fat for me), these 11-12 weeks will allow me to drop into the single-digit fat percentages (ripped with cover-model abs). This is not bodybuilder conditioning (3-5%) but nonetheless, it’s great!
Part of my motivation is the next certification step I am taking in 2 weeks, allowing me to build up my personal training clientelle even further. So my drive is mainly coming from the following idea: “I want to lead by example, to train others to walk the walk as I do.”
Part of my reasoning behind this mentality is because I’ve heard too often that people do not want to play “follow-the-leader” with someone that’s fat, overweight, or obese. Often, the aerobics instructors are overweight to some varying degree. How does this come across to the participants? If the participants see that the instructor teaches class 12 hours per week, how in the world do they expect ANY kind of fat loss since they’re only doing a fraction of what the instructor is doing. (What they don’t realize is the instructor is most likely in starvation mode and has a VERY slow metabolism).
With that said, I choose to lead the way, leading by example, and showing others how to get the results that they want.
